The mini versions of the american 32x and SEGA CD are a thing! But neither you nor me will be able to get one.

Many of you were already aware of the existence of the SEGA Mega Drive "Tower of Power" Mini for Japan: it's a small-sized version of the 32x and SEGA CD that can be added on to the japanese Mega Drive Mini. No other region got anything like this, or that's what we thought until some media outlets and SEGA themselves showcased the Genesis Tower (Picture from MyLifeInGaming):

According to Jacob Nahin, a SEGA / Atlus communication manager, there were only a few of these produced for the media and won't be available for purchase at retail. He also said they'd find a way to get "a few of these in our hands", but that likely means they'll be very, very limited. Will the public be able to buy these small replicas? That remains to be seen, so we can only hope for the best.
